🎉 Celebrating 2 years of leaderboards!

With lgstats.xyz now being 2 years old, it is time to announce new features and changes.

More than 200,000 Local Guides are now registered on our site. That is a reason to celebrate! However, such big numbers are beginning to put stress on our systems. Processing data for hundreds of thousands of profiles every day is inefficient, especially because less than 10% of the profiles actually have any changes in their data.

Therefore, to ensure that our site is well positioned for the future and serves best to our users, with this year's feature drop, we decided to start prioritizing our verified profiles verified

• Unlimited historical data. We now provide historical data without any maximum time frame for verified profiles.
• Higher update frequency. Verified profiles are eligible for daily contribution updates as well as weekly country flag updates.
• Priority queue. Verified profiles will get priority slots in our data processing queues.

You are probably already familar with Insights, which provide aggregated data such as total amount of registered Local Guides or average contributions. We are now introducing dedicated insights for every country. This way you can now for example see the total amount of photos posted by Local Guides in Italy.

Additionally, there is a brand new way of exploring where Local Guides are contributing. Our heatmap will show you geographical hot spots of where most Local Guides are active. Find more information on how this works in our FAQ.
